*This blog was written in 2018 while waiting for the baby we now know as Frankie*
It’s all happening; in less than two months our Edwards & Co baby will be here! Obviously, this is Mark and Christian’s baby but we’re all hanging out for cuddles…
A few weeks ago, they threw a gender reveal party and found out they’re expecting a boy. All of us in the office have boys so you could say they’re in good company.
Apparently, gender reveal parties are growing in popularity ‘Down Under’ after being quite big in the US. Any reason to celebrate, we say! You might’ve seen on our Instagram story the moment of the big reveal. If not, Mark and Christian popped a big balloon which had blue confetti inside, instantly letting the proud Dads know they’ll soon have a mini-me running around. Another popular idea is to have a cake made with either pink or blue on the inside, which you then cut into to find out the sex of your bub.”
If you think about it, being able to find out the sex of your baby is a pretty new concept. Back in the day, we didn’t have the luxury of ultrasounds at 18 weeks; what you see is what you get on D-Day.
While it’s a nice surprise to not find out, many first-time parents like finding out whether they’re having a boy or girl so they can plan ahead – clothes to buy, décor for the nursery, toys etc. In reality, only so much planning can prepare you for the onslaught of parenthood!
Mark and Christian have put it perfectly, whether or not you decide to find out if your baby is a boy or girl:
“You can play with trucks and dolls, shave your hair or grow it out. This is your life and we want you to do what makes you happy.”
The outcome of the party: a BOY!
